Software Base Station and Ethernet network access: a follow-up

CNET staff
Regarding our previous report of problems printing to an Ethernet connected printer from a G4 used as an AirPort Software Base Station, Lee Neuman suggests that switching the AppleTalk, but not TCP/IP, settings to Ethernet (rather than AirPort) may be a preferred arrangement: "It is true that after running the configuration assistant AppleTalk is set to connect via Airport. I changed AppleTalk to connect through Ethernet. With this setup, I can print normally to our Tektronix Phaser 560 on the Ethernet network. From the iBook Airport connection, I can access the Internet and use Timbuktu Pro/IP file sharing with no problems (IP addresses required). However, I can't print directly to the Tektronix 560 from the iBook unless I use IP printing which I plan to setup at a later date."
