Office 2004 11.2.1 (#2): Calendar printing issues not fixed for some; Continuing LDAP problems

Calendar printing issues not fixed for some Users continue to experience issues with calendar printing in Entourage 2004, despite Microsoft's claim that this bug was addressed in the 11.2.1 release.

David Horton writs:

This does not fix printing issues for Entourage calendars. After I hit the Ok button, either noting prints or I get an error message with this error no. (-30867)."

Michael Mortilla adds:

"Not much more to say. Calendars still will not print. Not to a PDF. Not to a printer."

One awkward workaround for this issue is to use the Command-Shift-4 keyboard combination to take a picture of a selection of the screen, then print the screenshot from within Preview.app or another application.

Continuing LDAP problems As noted in our Office 2004 SP2 special report, the version of Entourage issues with that release included some significant issues with LDAP -- including an inability to automatically retrieve e-mail addresses from the LDAP server when filling in the "To:" field of a new e-mail message.

It appears that these issues continue for some readers in Office 2004 11.2.1, with the primary symptoms -- an error message when contact retrieval is attempted, or simply no return of information -- persist.

MacFixIt reader John Grubb writes:

"Not sure this is a universal problem, but our university uses an LDAP that previous versions of Entourage interfaced with, but ever since the last 2 updates, it no longer functions. I have our computing people looking into it on our end. Microsoft changed the way Directory Services functions (it' s no longer a menu item but rather a function of lookup from within the message address box).

"Since they moved it, it is no longer talking to our LDAP."
