Odds and Ends: Successes with Bluetooth 1.5; AppleWorks/Eudora conflict? Knowledge Base Updates
Bluetooth 1.5 successes On Monday we covered a few problems users have reported with Apple's Bluetooth 1.5 update. On a positive note, we've also received reports of success. For example, reader Dean Nutting notes:
"Have just upgraded on G4 Fw800 With OS 10.3, My firmware on my D-link DBT-120 and paired it with my Jabra BT 200 Headset. On iChat I am able to voice chat AND in iTunes I am able to hear the music ( Mono ). Just thought I would let you guys know it all works perfectly!"
AppleWorks/Eudora conflict? MacFixIt reader Jeff Hirst notes a conflict between AppleWorks 6.2.9 and Eudora 6.0.2:
"If an Appleworks spreadsheet is opened while Eudora is running, Eudora will be unable to check mail. Error messages generated by Eudora include: 'Couldn't read your settings. 35622930 2 (-43); The document was not found. {90:906}' followed by 'Eudora could not check mail in the background. Try closing some windows or switch background threading off. -43, {90:436}.' The work-around is to quit and restart Eudora every time you use a spreadsheet
Since none of the MacFixIt staff uses Eudora, we haven't been able to confirm this issue. We welcome feedback from readers.
