Problems with AirPort and D-Link routers; possible solution We are seeking confirmation for an issue where some D-Link routers do not function properly with AirPort cards after the AirPort 3.4 update:

MacFIxIt reader David Rodgerson writes "Ever since a certain Airport firmware update I have had nothing but problems ( I believe it was the 3.4 one). I tried to change the firmware on my D-Link 714P+ to 1.31b, but that did nothing. Finally the solution was to install Airport Update 3.4.1 and then to revert to my original 1.23 firmware for the router.

"The problem was the commonly reported issues of 40%+ packet loss."

So it seems for some users, the combination of the Airport 3.4.1 update and reversion to the D-Link 1.23 firmware is enough to eliminate packet loss issues.

Some routers not allowing iChat AV audio/video exchange? Another potentially router-specific problem involves iChat AV. MacFixIt reader Peter writes:

"In my case I have 6 buddies currently in use all except one work fine. The odd man out can have text chats and we can exchange files but no AV.

"Apple Support have connected to both of us but we cannot. I have tried to find a common factor, and there is one ? our DSL router. Draytek Vigor 2600 plus in both cases. None of the others have these. I have a Hermstedt Webshuttle and have set up my 12 PB to use this later today to see if eliminating one of the Drayteks makes a difference."
