Odds and Ends: Microtek's OS X Plans Hazy; Panic seeking
Microtek's OS X plans hazy Microtek may never release Mac OS X compatible drivers for some of its USB scanner models, according to correspondence with a technical support representative who said:
"We do not have plans to support the ScanMaker V6USL on OS X. It will run if you boot up on OS 9.2 disk."
Panic seeking Transmit 2 beta testers Panic Software is looking for users to test a beta release of Transmit 2, the company's FTP client. Company co-founder Cabel Sasser writes:
"You see, our normally top-secret, air-tight, deep-in-a-coding-cave development cycle for Transmit 2 is nearing its end. This major update (actually, a total rewrite) of our popular Macintosh FTP client is shaping up just great -- fantastic new much-requested features, with that same famous clean Transmit interface. Of course, we can't talk about it much yet. But we can put out the call to anyone who is interested: help us test Transmit 2."
