Epson multi-function cannot scan over AirPort MacFixIt reader Lee Mathis reports that the scanner capability of Epson's CX-6400 multi-function device will not work properly over AirPort.

"I discovered today (and Epson confirmed via email) that even though the CX-6400 printer works normally over the Airport network (it's plugged into the USB port on the Airport Extreme Base Station), the scan function will not work over Airport.

Epson did not say this was a bug, (they said only) "... the scanner portion of your CX 6400 device will not work across a wireless configuration". Moreover, they did not indicate that there was any software fix in work or even planned.

AppleCare now available for the iPod Apple's highly recommended AppleCare premium warranty service is now available for the iPod. The plan is priced at US$59 for two years of protection.

One caveat, however: "The AppleCare Protection Plan cannot be sold to consumers residing in Florida. 'Consumers' are persons who use their computers primarily for personal, family, or household purposes."
