Directory printouts in the Finder Reggie Barton notes a classic Mac OS 9 functionality that many users forgotten, but is still available in Mac OS X. "Here's what I found. If you make a desktop printer and drag a folder to it, you get a print out of the directory."

To create a desktop printer, open the Printer Setup Utility located in /Applications/Utilities, and select a printer from the list and choose "Create desktop printer" from the Printers menu.

Date and Time errors with Nikon cameras Mike Florian reports a date and time problem with his Nikon digital cameras for which we are seeking confirmation:

"I have a new Nikon D70 and an older Nikon Coolpix 950. I have two different Macintosh computers both running OS 10.2.8. After carefully setting the date and time on both the cameras and the computers I get the following. The date and time on the image files is exactly 4 hours earlier than when I took the photo. The date and time displayed on the image file while it is being displayed on the camera LCD is correct, but changes to fours hours earlier when I put the memory card into the cardreader and transfer the file to the drive of either computer.

"I then restarted both computers in system OS 9.2.2. The image files then displayed the correct time. In summary, system 9.2.2 displays the time correctly, while OS 10.2.8 displays the time four hours earlier. All other files created on the Macs display the correct time and date regardless of operating system."
