Yessss! Nintendo NES Classic Edition comes back to Best Buy December 20
If you act fast, you might be able to snag one of those 'lil $60 retro consoles.
It's a holiday miracle! It seems like Best Buy will be restocking the Nintendo NES Classic Edition on December 20, according to emails spotted by customers. When the mini console debuted on November 11, quantities quickly sold out, leaving many weeping into their hands.
The NES Classic Edition promised nostalgic gamers 30 of their favorite Nintendo NES games in a shrunken version of the original. Like Super Mario Run, Nintendo's first smartphone game ever, the mini NES is part of the company's plan to capitalize on retro games while also grabbing new audiences.
Some Best Buy customers received an email about a NES Classic Edition restock. The email stated the restock would happen "tomorrow" on December 20. The email was originally sent out December 7, so the date was a bit fishy. Later, Best Buy sent out another email confirming the restock and that the initial email was sent too early. The restock will still have limited quantities and be in-store only. Best Buy also confirmed this to CNET.
While there still won't be enough of the $60 consoles to go around, the lucky ones won't have to face through-the-roof resale prices of $400 or even $2,500. Yikes! Meanwhile, here are all the places you can buy the NES Classic, which will update as we learn more.
