For Macs in schools it's death by a thousand cuts The Sydney Morning Herald reports on a campaign to raise awareness of the plight of teachers in Australia reporting a dwindling level of support for Apple laptops in schools. "In Victoria the problems reported to him revolved around incompatible education software that was originally specified to cater for both PC and Mac notebooks, while in Queensland, some teachers were concerned about a perceived administrative pressure to get in more 'boxes for the bucks.' Mr Sharp said Apple would not provide him with any comment or explanation, however an Apple spokeswoman told us on Monday that the company was aware of the issue, and that it remained committed to the education sector." Apple stays fresh by changing The Daily Press says that Apple Apple has completed one of the most impactive changes in its history - "and that's saying something. A couple of weeks ago, the company launched the last element in the Mac product line to make the transition from PowerPC to Intel processor chips.
