New & Noteworthy: Final Cut Pro; MoniSwitch; ACT!

Final Cut Pro 1.2 is out Apple has released Final Cut Pro 1.2.1. "This exciting new release includes significant optimizations to core rendering routines, support for Mac OS 9, PAL, the ability to import Macromedia Flash files, new audio reverb filters as well as several other feature and user interface refinements." MoniSwitch Dr. Bott today announced the shipping of MoniSwitchADB. It is a Macintosh KVM (keyboard, video, and mouse) switch that allows the use of a monitor and ADB peripherals with multiple computers.

ACT! is over Earlier this month, SalesLogix acquired Symantec's ACT! contact manager. However, they do not plan to support or upgrade the Mac version. (Thanks Bill Gordon.)

Update: Ric Amis received a reply from SalesLogix that states that there has been no official decision yet to discontinue the Mac version: "We are looking at all opportunities to grow the overall business and the Mac is still under consideration. No decisions have been made as yet."
