DVD Studio Pro 1.1 is the latest version of Apple's professional DVD authoring tool. This free update adds a number of functionality improvements including support for certain third-party external storage devices that contain Pioneer’s DVR-A03 DVD Recordable Drive.

WhereDidAllMyMoneyGo 2.3 is a new version of this application to track all your possessions, income and expenses. Recurring transactions that are to be generated several times per year (should) now generate correctly (they used to start generating only from the second year).

New iMacs listed for educational institution users? A reader informs us that those logging in to Apple Store as an educational institution are already seeing new pricing and configurations for iMacs - apparently confirming that new iMacs will be announced at Macworld Expo next week. The listed specs are not much different than the current line-up. So, whatever changes are coming, they appear to be in the design rather than the internal hardware. [Note: This may have been an premature update; another reader reports that the "old" info is now back online.]

Reprahduce gone? The reprahduce.com and reprahduce.net URLs now result in DNS errors. A reader tells us that service from this Mac-centric web hosting company has been down since July 3.
