More on unclear sorting in the Mac OS X 10.2.x Finder
MacFixIt reader Mike notes that regardless of what the intended sort order is, it can be easily demonstrated that the implementation is broken for file names with a numeric value greater than 999999. As this example shows:
- 1000000
- 1
- 999999
Also string length is not a factor:
- 1000000
- 1
- 0999999
- 999999
See yesterday's report on this same issue for further information.
