Microsoft issues: Mouse click problem follow-up; Word file corruption

Previously reported mouse click problem: Microsoft is working on a solution Rob Eberhardt writes: "I wanted to report some good news for the many out there experiencing the dreaded "mouse click" problem (where you need to keep clicking the mouse to maintain an Internet download, for example) with Microsoft Outlook 8.x, Exchange Server Edition. I have been working with people from Apple and Microsoft on this issue for several months, sending debug logs and configuration information. This has been a difficult issue since Microsoft was never able to duplicate the problem. Now, they have finally reported that they are able to reproduce this problem with Outlook Exchange, Internet Explorer (IE) and IE Download Manager." Unfortunately, Rob did not say when or if Microsoft planned to fix the problem.
Note: For others, including myself, this problem has also been linked to having Word 98 open.

Word file corruption A thread in the MacFixIt Forums discusses "Word 98 Frequent File Corruption." There seems to be more than one cause described. Some postings are clearly referring to the Save bug (reported here before). Others may be describing something new.
