Installing HP DeskJet 5850 drivers breaks Adobe CS apps?

CNET staff
Reader Peter Osborne reports an issue we haven't heard before where simply installing particular printer drivers prevents Adobe CS applications from working:

"On downloading and installing the latest drivers (InkJet2.3.1) for the DeskJet 5850, I find NONE of my AdobeCS apps will launch. The icons will bounce in the dock a few times and then stop. I verified the problem by starting with a fresh install of 10.3.2 and my normal app set (Dreamweaver, Transmit, MS-Office, Camino) and again, on installing the printer drivers all Adobe CS apps refused to launch (Kern protection error in the crash log)."
