Description:Along with a variety of bug fixes and support for new products, iTunes 8.1 seems a lot more optimized than previous versions of the software. People are noticing the program loads faster and seems much snappier overall.

However, there have been several reports of the store not functioning correctly after people have updated the software. When trying to access the store, iTunes will sometimes time out or not search for songs properly. If the store loads, searching for songs in the search box will yield results, but using the arrows next to artists and albums to find additional content isn't working for some who've upgraded.

On great thing about this update is the availability of more iTunes plus content; however, initial visitors to the store reported the iTunes plus section missing. It now seems to have reappeared, but if you cannot see this section, it may be because of a caching problem in iTunes or some other glitch with the store and iTunes 8.1.

With any new version of iTunes, store accessibility problems should be expected at first. Apple needs to update and tweak the server software to manage new features and deal with other small differences. Therefore, we recommend that if you cannot access the store immediately, try back in a few hours.
