Illustrator 9 conflicts with type management utilities?

Jill Bell took the just released Illustrator 9.0 out for a spin. Unfortunately, every time she quit the application, her Mac crashed. Trashing Preferences files and reinstalling the application did not help. She called Adobe about this and they asked if she was using a type management program. She answered that she was using ATM Deluxe 4.5.2. They suggested this could be the cause of the problem. Disabling ATM did indeed stop the crashes. She adds: " So, I downloaded Suitcase 9 demo, and things are fine. So far. As long as not too many fonts are installed, more that fit on the drop down menu. Otherwise, that also causes a crash." Len Levasseur has now confirmed this ATM conflict. Steven Morrissey adds: "My copy of Adobe Illustrator 9.0 will not launch if the Font Reserve Plugin is placed in the AI 9.0 Plugin folder. This happen before in AI 8.0 and Font Reserve came up with an update. I'm running Mac OS 9.04 on a G4 (PCI) 350."
