Getting the Mac OS X 10.1 CD: More info

Following up on a previous item:

Apple is quoting anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 weeks before users should expect to receive copies of the OS X 10.1 update that they ordered. We suspect they will arrive sooner, but we are making no guarantees.

We also received word that CompUSA will not have copies of OS X 10.1 on Saturday (although the policy may< vary at different locations).

One user reported that a non-Apple store in his area would only be giving out the update to people who purchase a new Mac, contrary to Apple's policy.

Finally, Michael Kaye sends us this updated info on getting 10.1 in the UK: "You can order it from the UK Apple Store as well as from the UpToDate site - and it will include the Developers CD. Also, at least some Apple Authorized Resellers will have the free upgrade CDs available on Saturday (but more likely Monday). This does not include the Developers CD."
