Why You Can Trust CNET Get a 16GB Zune HD for $149 shipped
This unheard-of price is good today only, and there's a decent chance it won't last that long. If you've been eyeballing a Zune HD, now's the time to pull the trigger.
It's rare to find a Zune HD selling for below its $219 list price. Sure, you'll occasionally see it as low as $170, which is the current deal over at Amazon. But $149? Nah, it never gets that low.
Except for today (and only today). Dell Home has the 16GB Zune HD for $149 shipped. Want twice the storage? Snag the 32GB model for $199 shipped--another new low.
I don't think anyone needs me to espouse on the Zune HD's virtues; this is either a media player you're interested in or it's not. I can't say I'd choose one over an iPod Touch, even though the latter currently costs $199 for the 8GB model. But that's just me: I prize apps over other goodies.
Not that the Zune's goodies aren't compelling. Who wouldn't love an ultra-bright OLED screen, HD radio, and support for subscription music?
Indeed, I'd say this is the player for hard-core audio enthusiasts. CNET rated it four stars, as did readers, and the aforementioned Amazon product page shows an average user rating of 4.5 stars.
Bottom line: If you've had your eye on a Zune HD, this is the time to buy. I'll be interested to see if these sell out at this price, as I'm just not sure the interest is there.
