G4 PowerBook AirPort Performance: another fix?
G4 PowerBook AirPort Performance: another fix?
A reader found a way to improve Airport reception on his G4 Ti PowerBook. Eric McMurry writes:
"I recently noticed decreased AirPort performance on my Ti 500. I took a close look in the case, and I noticed that the small patch antennas seem to be glued to the "windows" on the sides. One of these is part of the battery housing. That one had come loose and the antenna was about 1-2 mm away from the window. When I pushed it back up against the window, my AirPort performance improved roughly 50%. I now can get coverage in places I could not even before I noticed the levels degrading."
