FinderPop silent update fixes Mac OS 8.1 startup crash

CNET staff
As several readers report, and as noted on the FinderPop web page, you may have problems with FinderPop 1.8 if you are running Mac OS 8.1. The most common symptom will be a "Code Fragment couldn't be prepared" startup crash. This has been fixed by a "silent update." That is, the version of 1.8 now on the Web fixes this problem. So re-download it if you experience this glitch.
Update: FinderPop/Expander bug reported There's a "minor" bug between FinderPop 1.8 and Stuffit Expander 5.1.2 With "Add FinderPop Features to 'Path' Popup Menus" enabled, if you select and send a compressed archive to Stuffit Expander 5.1.2, Expander crashes when trying to select a destination folder. (Thanks, Chakaranda.)
