FAXstf 5.0.5 not linked to iBook startup problem

Chad Krause (Quality Assurance Manager, Mac Division of Smith Micro) assures us that the startup problem on iBooks is not due to FAXstf 5.0.5, as one reader claimed (see yesterday's item): "We have done extensive testing of the FAXstf product on the iBook and are certain that this problem is in no way related to the FAXstf product." Also note that the latest version of FAXstf is 5.1, which is newer than the version that shipped with the iBook. Several readers suggest that this update fixes most problems with the previous version. The new iBooks announced at Macworld Tokyo should be shipping with 5.1.
