Entourage Palm Conduit Issues

As noted yesterday, Microsoft has released a Palm synchronization conduit for Entourage.

Handspring compatible Mike Stimpson reports that despite a warning to the contrary on Microsoft's Web site, the new conduit works under Palm Desktop 4.0 with his Visor Pro PDA from Handspring.

"After following the instructions posted previously on MacFixIt to remove all Palm OS Updates from the corresponding folder, I have had no problems whatsoever with Palm Desktop 4.0 and my Visor Edge handheld. Synchronization has worked perfectly every time."

Garbled contacts Irving Gonazales writes:

"To my dismay, I found that many addresses were duplicated (not so bad). What was really bad was the fact that many 'work' addresses were changed to the 'e-mail address.' The memo/note pad was synchronized, but not the To-Do lists or the Calendar entries. "

UPDATE: Ken McCoy reports receiving the error message "another identity is open in another Office application," when attempting to synchronize in Entourage, even though no other Office applications are open.

"I even diabled the 'Microsoft Database Daemon' startup app to see if it was the and there is only one identity on my computer. I've also disabled Office Notifications and rebuilt the Entourage database."
