Contextual menu bug in Finder list view

Contextual menu bug in Finder list view

CNET staff
Readers continue to report this previously cited bug where, in OS X 10.1, an incorrect contextual menu will appear in the Finder list view. For example, Howard Kaufman writes:

"In the column or icon view in a Finder window, you can Control-Click on an item in the list and the contextual menu for that item comes up as expected. However, in List view, unless the file name is selected and highlighted for editing, the Contextual menu for the enclosing window appears instead."

Update: Peter Hinchliffe notes: "The bug only appears if you immediately click on the item's icon. If you click on the item's name first, then on the icon, the CM works properly. Still a bug, but at least there's a work-around."
