Cleaning Riven CD-ROM disc may cure problems with running movies

Rich Cook reports problems using Riven on his 7500 running Mac OS 8. He writes: "I am getting movies that replay themselves over and over, stuttering, crashing, and blacked-out screens." Broderbund tech support did not have a solution to offer. However, he found the following posting on a Usenet newsgroup: "For some reason, the Riven disks seem to be exceptionally sensitive to dirt. Even smudges too faint to see can have a devastating affect on readability. Try cleaning the disks, even if they don't seem to need it. Then clean them again. And again." He tried it and it worked!
