Cooking is an activity that is richly steeped in tradition. From recipes that have been handed down for generations to that old cast-iron skillet that has been kicking about the family for as long as anyone can remember, the kitchen is like a living historical artifact in action.

The Ardenté Gourmet Automatic Stirrer is an odd looking contrivance designed to automate one of the most tedious of cooking chores. Fastening directly over the top of pots with openings from 9 inches to 16 inches, the battery-operated kitchen gadget stirs cooking ingredients automatically. The stirring blades adjust to fit most pot depths and they are stackable to facilitate thorough stirring.

Standing guard over a hot pot of simmering sauce doesn't require much effort, but if the duty is ignored, the results can be disastrous. Scorching food in the kitchen should be pretty near the top of the list of things to avoid while cooking. However, as we all know, the kitchen can go from calm to hectic in the blink of an eye. With a third hand stirring the pot, any tradition of occasionally scorched pots will never again need to be repeated.
