Apple's new keybaords require Keyboard Software Update 1.1, available in Software Update

they also require Mac OS X 10.4.10

Apple's new Mac keyboards (wired model $49, Bluetooth wireless model $79) require Keyboard Software Update 1.1 to function properly.

Knowledge Base article #306216 states: "Your Apple Keyboard (2007) has special features (Exposé, Dashboard, screen brightness, audio control and so on) preassigned to the function keys. To take advantage of these features, you must install the Keyboard Software Update 1.1 [...]

The update is only available through Software Update. In order to obtain it, you need to be running Mac OS X 10.4.10, and have the keyboard connected, then select Software Update from the Apple menu.
