Another solution for FireWire drives not being recognized

Yesterday we covered a few workarounds for situations where FireWire drives do not mount when connected. Reader Johannes Borgstein wrote in with a simple solution that we didn't include: launching Disk Utility. This will sometimes mount connected FireWire drives immediately or, if it doesn't mount them automatically, allow you to mount them manually.
