Adobe Illustrator memory bug reported

CNET staff
Bruce Brandligt writes: "There is a bug in Illustrator 8 which had been verified by Adobe a few months ago, but remains unresolved. It appears to be a memory problem which occurs when opening and closing documents with hi-resolution placed EPS files. Upon closing documents with hi-res placed images, the memory the document occupied is not reclaimed, resulting in frequent out-of-memory messages despite having plenty of RAM. When I set the display in the document window to show available RAM, I can actually watch the RAM disappear as I open and close these types of documents."
