Adobe CS2 application performance problems, other issues (#5)

We continue coverage of performance issues with various Adobe CS2 (Creative Suite 2 applications). As previously noted, most affected tool in the bunch appears to be Photoshop 9.0, which exhibits significant slow-down for some users when working with routine (not particularly large or complex) images and when opening or saving documents.

Performance faster under Panther? Some users report that virtually all CS2 applications operate with better performance under Mac OS X 10.3.x (Panther) when compared with Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger), leading some to consider a reversion to the older release.

MacFixIt reader André Dubé writs:

"I have also performance problems with Photoshop CS2 on my iMac G5 2Ghz on Mac OS X 10.4.2. But the program is running fine on my Powerbook G4 1.5 Ghz on MacOS 10.3.9."
