Amazon unveiled all kinds of new devices at its 2022 hardware event earlier in the week, including the new Kindle Scribe, new Echo smart speakers and new Ring cameras. And a new generation of devices means big discounts on older models. Today only, Woot has a selection of older refurbished Kindles and Amazon Fire tablets on sale, so you can save big compared to shopping new. These deals are only available until 9:59 p.m. PT (12:59 a.m. ET) tonight, and some models may sell out before then, so we'd recommend getting your order in sooner rather than later.

According to Woot, refurbished items may show slight signs of wear and tear, but have been inspected and restored to full working condition. All tablets on sale are also covered by Amazon's 90-day limited warranty, in case you run into any issues in the first three months.

There's a wide range of tablets available, with some models from as recently as 2019. The Kindle remains our favorite e-reader on the market in 2022, and right now you can pick one up at a discount. If you want the latest model available at this sale, you can grab the 10th-gen Kindle with 4GB of storage for $30 -- or the 8GB model for $35. Or for $40 you could upgrade to the 10th-gen Kindle Paperwhite, which features a brighter antiglare display and more storage and is waterproof up to two meters with an IPX8 rating. And if you're just after the most affordable option, you can pick up a 2015 Kindle Paperwhite for just $20.

And if you want a tablet for more than just reading books, you'll find plenty of Fire tablets available at a bargain as well. The newest model available is the Fire HD 10 from 2019, which starts at just $50. It features a 10.1-inch full HD display, 2GB or RAM, an octa-core processor and battery life of up to 12 hours. It's perfect for streaming shows and movies, browsing the web and video chatting, thanks to the built-in 2-megapixel front camera. If you don't need the biggest or the latest, you can grab a slightly older Fire HD 8 tablet from 2018 for as low as just $15 or a 2019 Fire 7 tablet for $35. There are some slightly older Fire tablets available as well, but they cost nearly the same as the more recent models listed above, so we'd recommend sticking to the 2018 or 2019 models if you're looking for the best value.
