Lego has revealed images, a release date and pricing for the Ghostbusters Lego set that won its way through Cuusoo.

The official Ghostbusters Lego set that came to life through Lego Cuusoo was unveiled over the weekend at ToyFair New York, and will be arriving right in time for the film's 30th anniversary on 7 June this year.

The set will be released sometime in June — Lego didn't give an exact date — and features the Ecto-1 ambulance-hearse Cadillac and all four members of the Ghostbusters team with their proton packs.

The car itself will have enough room inside for only three minifigs, though, so someone will have to get left behind, alas — or climb on top of the equipment that attaches to the roof rack.

Ghostbusters fan Brent Waller, who created the set and launched it on Cuusoo, where it quickly collected the 10,000 supported needed to be sent to Lego for approval, told the company, "As a child I would recreate Ghostbusters out of Lego. I had a very primitive Ecto-1, Ecto-1A and the Firehouse as well as all of the main characters with 'Classic Space' air-tanks for Proton Packs. As an adult rediscovering my love of Lego, recreating it now was a way of recapturing that unbridled creativity of my youth."

Lego hasn't mentioned how many pieces are in the set, but the entire set, including minifigs, will be available in the US for US$49.99. We've contacted Lego Australia for local pricing and release information, and will update this story when we know more.
