The unbearable lightness of wallets: the Steam autumn sale has begun
We're not sure whether we'll ever get through all the games purchased in previous end-of-year Steam sales. But, hey, it's happening again.

This one is the "autumn" sale, existing purely because Americans expect post-Thanksgiving Day sales in an orgy of retail called "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday". This particular sale will run through 26 November.
The usual rules apply for wise PC game shoppers: only purchase daily deals or flash sales until the very last day, then indulge in bundles or other discounts.
Oh, and remember: this is only the warm-up act. The real sizzle is reserved for the "winter" sale, in the lead up to Christmas and new year, where no doubt some ingenious evil social competition will also be in play.
