Colour us excited: a duo of new-hued DualShock 4 controllers are adding a splash of colour to the Sony PS4.

The colourful controllers for the new PlayStation 4 games console come decked out in fiery-sounding 'magma red' and calming 'wave blue'.

The new DualShock 4 controller includes a six-axis sensor and a touchpad on the front, with a light bar on the top that lights up to match the colour of the character you're playing in a game.

The red and blue DualShock 4 controllers cost £54. They'll hit shops at the same time as the PS4, which goes on sale on 29 November in Europe, two weeks after the US launch.

A black controller comes free with the PS4 console. Sony announced the new PlayStation's release date this week, promising launch titles including Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Watchdogs, Battlefield 4 and Killzone: Shadow Fall. Sony is also teaming up with Internet service providers including Virgin Media to offer special broadband packages for gamers.

The PS4 will cost £349, a whopping £80 cheaper than the much-maligned Microsoft Xbox One.
