After an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign last year, YEI Technology has once again taken to the crowdfunding website — with a revised version of its PrioVR motion-capture gaming system, shown off at CES last month paired with the Oculus Rift.

"We learned from the gaming community, who are brutally honest, what they expected to see and what they wanted," YEI CEO Paul Yost told CNET last month at CES.

The new version of the suit, which translates your real-world movements into a video-game environment in real-time, is now available in three separate versions, suitable for different types of play styles: a half-body suit with eight sensors that covers just the torso for seated gamers; a full-body "light" suit with 12 sensors; and a full-body "hardcore" 17-sensor suit with additional sensors at the stomach, shoulders and ankles.

Previously, the suit only had two versions, both for the whole body. The new half-body suit allows greater accessibility for disabled gamers, or gamers with a small space that isn't suitable for moving around too much.

The system will be compatible with the Oculus Rift at launch, and comes loaded with demo games. It will also be compatible with PC, with plans to introduce console compatibility later on — hopefully in the form of a downloadable software patch.

So far, the system has made US$126,691 of its US$75,000 goal, and is available from an early bird price of US$250 for the half-body Lite suit. Head on over to the PrioVR Kickstarter page to pledge support.
