Newest Pokemon Sun/Moon creature can change types, see it in action here
More Pokemon revealed and detailed in newest gameplay trailer; demo arrives next week.
The Pokemon Company has released a new trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon, which reveals new creatures including Silvally and Kommo-o, the latter of which is the evolved form of Jangmo-o.
One of Silvally's unique abilities is called RKS System. This allows it to change its type, making its attacks more effective against creatures that would otherwise be only mildly affected.
This video also reveals the evolution animations for the dragon creature Jangmo-o as it becomes Hakomo-o and then the even mightier Kommo-o. One of its abilities is called Clanging Scales, which looks particularly devastating in the gameplay clip.
Also on display in the video is Bounsweet's evolution process to Steenee and then Tsareena. Even more evolutions are shown in the video.
Additionally, the video shines a light on new trainers like Olivia, who specializes in rock-type Pokemon. Another new trainer is named Ilima, whose focus is on normal-type Pokemon.
This new Pokemon Sun/Moon video follows one from last week that revealed the evolved forms of the game's starter Pokemon.
In other news, The Pokemon Company has announced that a demo for Pokemon Moon will be available on October 18. You will have the creature Greninja on your roster in the demo. This Pokemon can become Ash-Greninja, and you can transfer it to the full game. Ash-Greninja was previously seen alongside Ash in the Pokemon the Series: XYZ animated TV show.
Pokemon Sun and Moon are scheduled to come out on November 18 for Nintendo 3DS. They are the first new games in the mainline series since Pokemon Go's record-setting release in July. It will be interesting to see if the increased interest in Pokemon translates to stronger sales for the new games. Nintendo recently announced that 2DS sales surged 500 percent due to "excitement for the Pokemon brand," which is almost certainly a reference to Pokemon Go.
The Pokemon Company announced in September that Pokemon Bank functionality for Sun and Moon won't be available at launch. Instead, the feature will be added through an update in January 2017.
