GTA 5 coming to PC in 2014, report claims

PC gamers may not have long to wait before the open-world crime-a-thon becomes available.

Grand Theft Auto 5 could be arriving on PC in a matter of months, if fresh rumours concerning Rockstar's release plans are to be believed.

The open-world crimulator -- which has already smashed sales records -- will get a PC version in the first three months of 2014, Eurogamer reports, citing 'multiple industry sources'.

The fifth instalment in the GTA franchise made its violent debut in September, but is currently confined to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

PC gamers desperate for a taste of the chaotic crime-em-up have formed a petition on change.org (a site that normally hosts petitions related to global politics or human rights), demanding that Rockstar bring its latest effort to the platform.

The petition currently has nearly 600,000 signatures. Gamers are also keen to know whether GTA 5 will make its way to Microsoft and Sony's next-generation consoles, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Rockstar writes on its website, "We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time".

Previous title Grand Theft Auto 4 arrived for PC eight months after its initial launch on the Xbox 360 and PS3, so a PC version certainly wouldn't be a surprise.

Are you gagging for GTA 5 on PC? Would early 2014 be soon enough, or should Rockstar speed up the process? Let me know your thoughts in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
