Gears of War 4 dev teases Easter egg and 'super secret' news

"We may have just created my favorite Easter egg in Gears 4," studio boss says, as he also teases some upcoming news.

Many games have Easter eggs, and The Coalition's upcoming shooter Gears of War 4 will be no different.

Studio boss Rod Fergusson recently said on Twitter, "We may have just created my favorite Easter egg in Gears 4. I hope you find it!" He didn't provide any further details about the Easter egg or why it's his favorite.

You can visit the Gears of War Wikia page to see a rundown of the Easter eggs hidden in the numerous entries in the gritty shooter series so far.

The Coalition

Fergusson also recently teased on Twitter that The Coalition might have some Gears of War 4 news to share soon. Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb recently visited the studio in Canada to talk about "super secret Gears of War 4 stuff," Fergusson said. Here's a picture of them smiling:

Fergusson also posted a picture of a lot of makeup, suggesting the announcement will come by way of some kind of video.

Gears of War 4 launches on October 11 for Xbox One and PC. It's an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning you can buy it digitally on the Xbox One and get the PC version free or vice versa. Additionally, your saves and achievements will be available on both platforms.

In other news about Gears of War 4, if you buy the game digitally on the Xbox One before the end of 2016, you will also get free copies of Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War Judgment. They are playable on Xbox One through backward compatibility.
