'Game of Thrones' Season 5 gets a retro gaming remix

Fan-made supercut sets all the major events of HBO's "Game of Thrones" Season 5 to tunes from retro gaming classics like Super Mario Bros. and Mortal Kombat.

It's a me, Jon Snow!

A video posted by YouTube filmmaker Ozzy Man on Thursday takes the major events from the most recent season of "Game of Thrones" and sets them to music and sound effects from retro video games.

The clip, which you can watch below, primarily uses music and sound effects from the hit 1990s-era video games Super Mario Bros. and Mortal Kombat, setting them against scenes showing things like Tyrion Lannister and Jorah Mormont being jumped by the Stone Men and Jaime Lannister and Bronn's fight with the Sand Snakes.

The use of Mortal Kombat music is particularly fitting, as "Game of Thrones" is basically just one fatality after another, with the characters taking breaks from killing only to do some political backstabbing and have raunchy fun with prostitutes and, well, siblings.

Perhaps the best bit comes at the end of the clip, when a green 1-up mushroom from the Super Mario series flashes across Jon Snow's dying body. Does Melisandre have a magical 1-up mushroom that will bring the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch back to life, as several fan theories suggest?

We'll find out when "Game of Thrones" Season 6 comes back to our TV screens in the spring of 2016.
