The new Battlefield game set to be revealed later today is named Battlefield 1, not Battlefield 5 as previously believed.

The name surfaced today on Reddit, where an image of retail posters for the game were published. GameSpot has since confirmed the existence of the posters and the name with a retail source.

Earlier today, the Xbox One dashboard revealed a promotional image of the new game which appeared to confirm it will be set during World War I. It's this same image that's featured in the posters.

An additional photo (above) of the posters has since made its way online on Twitter, revealing the game will feature the Harlem Hellfighters. This is the nickname for the US 369th Infantry Regiment, a group of African-American soldiers that fought through World War I and II without losing a man.

The image also indicates that preorder DLC will be available called the Hellfighter Pack, which consists of "themed items inspired by the heroic Harlem Hellfighter infantry regiment."

The Battlefield 1 name, not unlike that of the Xbox One, will be potentially confusing to some. The series has never been consistent with its naming conventions, though. Only once did it directly go from one numbered entry to the next (Battlefield 3 to 4). More often than not, it jumped between different numbers and names--Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2, and Battlefield 2142 were the first four core entries in the series.

EA and DICE are set to officially announced Battlefield 1 later today. A livestream is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. PST. You can watch it live here.
