Black is the new black for DS Lite

Japan and Europe already have their choice of DS Lite colours -- and soon Australia will as well. From September 21, the Nintendo DS Lite will come in two shades -- the traditional polar white and a new addition, black.

Japan and Europe already have their choice of DS Lite colours -- and soon Australia will as well. From September 21, the Nintendo DS Lite will come in two shades -- the traditional polar white and a new addition, black.

The black DS Lite will have all the same features and functionality of the white DS Lite, which was first released in Australia on June 1, 2006. Gamers in Japan have it one better than Australian ones, with a pink version also available there. The US is also set to get the black and pink versions of Nintendo's popular handheld from September 13.

The release of the black DS Lite will be accompanied by a number of highly anticipated Nintendo first party DS titles. Star Fox Command and Tenchu: Dark Secret is also set for local release on September 21, while Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team will be released the week after on September 28.
