We've spent the last couple of days checking out how the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor kicks up off-road dust. Sure, it looks cool. But what is it really like to navigate and race this Baja-ready pickup truck on the desert sand? "The Smoking Tire" put host Matt Farah up to the challenge in the nether regions of California's Borrego Springs to get a first hand look at how the 2010 Ford Raptor can be used in an off-road driving scenario--boy, does it look like fun!

You can probably already tell that at the minimum this clip will be aesthetically pleasing, and I can assure you that the views of the Raptor in action is often poetry in motion (especially the helicopter camera shots taken toward the end of the video--the sky is a beautiful blue and the clouded mountains serve as a perfect background for the bright sand being plowed by this bad ass truck). Along the way, Farah gives us the behind the wheel experience of what it's like for a rookie to push a Baja worthy truck around the desert landscape. Farah talks about the different driving modes and capabilities that Ford has provided the Raptor and we also get a firsthand look of what it's like from the inside of this F-150 as it goes over desert hills and plains. It looks like a lot of fun, and if you're lucky enough to own the new Raptor, you should make full use of it by taking it for a spin somewhere other than the street or highway.
