SCG003S will bring F1 performance to the road next year
Two g's of cornering, a top speed of 218 mph, and seating for two? The SCG003S could raise the bar for road-going performance.
While it's easy enough to salivate over the performance of hypercars like the LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and McLaren P1, a new generation is arriving that could make them look a bit quaint. At next year's Geneva Motor Show, we'll see one of the first.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has said that it will, at that show, reveal the SCG003S, a road-going version of its SCG003C racer, and a follow-up to the earlier SGC003 kit car. The final C, which stands for "Competizione," is an endurance machine, recently winning its class in the brutal Nurburgring 24 Hours. The S edition, for "Stradale," will be a production version of that car, road-legal and capable of seating two passengers.
218 mph should be more than enough for your morning commute.
Passengers should be selected wisely, however, as those with weak stomachs or constitutions will not enjoy the ride here. SCG promises cornering performance in excess of 2g, acceleration to 60 mph in under 3 seconds and a top speed higher than 218 mph.
That puts the car in the sort of league as Aston Martin's AM-RB 001 and the Mercedes-AMG hypercar that was recently teased in Paris. None of these cars has a pricetag attached yet, but suffice to say all will fit squarely into "if you have to ask" territory.
