Garmin announces two new entry-level GPS series
Garmin has announced two new lines of its Nuvi GPS devices, the 2200 series and the 2300 series, aimed at the entry-level GPS market.

Garmin has announced two new Nuvi lines, the 2200 series and the 2300 series, aimed at the entry-level GPS market.
The 2200 series consists of three new models: 2200, 2250, and 2250LT. The Nuvi 2200 features a 3.5-inch display, Garmin's ecoRoute fuel-efficient routing and driving tools technology, and a feature called MyTrends that remembers your favorite destinations and can automatically offer routes and travel times. For example, if you head to work everyday at 8 a.m., eventually the Nuvi will remember and automatically set work as your destination when you hop in the car.
The 2200 comes preloaded with maps of the lower 48 United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Grand Bahama Island, Nassau, and the Cayman Islands. Stepping up to the 2250 adds maps of Mexico. Finally, the "LT" in 2250LT means that you get lifetime traffic.
The Garmin Nuvi 2200, 2250, and 2250LT units are currently available on Garmin's Web site for $149.99, $159.99, and $179.99, respectively.
The 2300 series is largely analogous to the 2200s, featuring the same ecoRoute software and myTrends predictive destinations, but with larger 4.3-inch wide screen displays across the board. The Nuvi 2300 features the same maps as the 2200, while a 2300LM model adds lifetime map updates. The 2350 adds maps of Mexico, the 2350LT adds lifetime traffic, and a 2350MT gets both lifetime maps and traffic.
Further up the series are the Nuvi 2360LT and 2360MT, retaining all of the features of the models below with the addition of Bluetooth wireless for hands-free calling and for pairing with Garmin's ecoRoute HD module for more accurate fuel economy estimates and vehicle diagnostics, as well as lifetime traffic (LT) or lifetime maps and traffic (MT). Finally, at the top of the 2300 series is the 2370LT that is preloaded with North American and European maps.
The Garmin Nuvi 2300 and 2300LM retail for $199.99 and $239.99, respectively. Stepping up to the 2350, 2350LT, or 2350MT will run you $209.99, $229.99, or $269.99. The Nuvi 2360LT and 2360MT retail for $259.99 and $299.99. Finally, the 2370LT will set you back $299.99.
