Forza 6 for the Xbox One will feature a Ford GT on its cover
The latest supercar to grace the cover of Turn 10's racing sim franchise will be a Ford.
DETROIT -- The next iteration of Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios' racing sim franchise is just around the corner with the announcement of Forza Motorsport 6 for the Xbox One console.
We won't see gameplay until the E3 trade show in June, but the developer has a deal with automaker Ford to feature the new 2017 Ford GT as the cover car. Other recent cover cars for the franchise include the McLaren P1 (for Forza Motorsport 5 ) and the Lamborghini Huracan ( Forza Horizon 2 ).
This announcement means that the Ford will be featured heavily in the game, which is exclusive to Microsoft's console, and in Forza's promotional material. Turn 10 and Ford also announced that the new Ford GT350R and F-150 Raptor, also unveiled this week in Detroit, will join their stablemate as playable vehicles in the game.
Turn 10 hasn't yet revealed any other details about the game. For example, we still don't know whether this new iteration of Motorsport will feature the dynamic weather that debuted in Forza Horizon 2. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information as it trickles out leading up to the game's unveil.
"Just as Ford has pushed the boundaries of car technology in GT, Forza Motorsport 6 will embrace that spirit of innovation as our most technically advanced racing simulation to date, offering a fun and realistic automotive experience for both car lovers and gamers," said Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios. "We're excited to unveil gameplay at E3 in June."
