The newest Aston Martin on the market has not one, but two engines, and it's literally incapable of traversing dry land. Sounds like a pretty crappy car, right? Thankfully, it's not a car, it's a powerboat.
The Aston Martin AM37 powerboat is a collaboration between the automaker and Quintessence Yachts. The 37 in its name comes from its length -- 37 feet. Its normal trim comes with either two 370-horsepower Mercury diesel engines, or two 430-horsepower Mercury gas engines.
Those engines will give you a top speed of about 45 knots. If you really want to turn up the wick, opt for the AM37S, which has two 520-horsepower Mercury gas engines and will hit a top speed of 50 knots.
It's not just for daylong outings on the water. If you're out for the long haul, its table becomes a bed. And it's equipped with air conditioning, a refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee machine. Hell, there's even a bathroom on board. The rear will seat up to eight people, although having all eight for a sleepover might get a little cramped.
Being an Aston Martin, it's positively loaded up with fancy materials. The seating surfaces are leather, and three carbon fiber panels can cover the cockpit with the push of a button. There's also a carbon fiber bimini top, as well as carbon fiber on the dashboard.
Of course, even if you didn't know all these details, finding out that it will be unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show should put any assumptions of fanciness to rest. Aston Martin hasn't mentioned the pricing yet -- but if you're in the market for an Aston Martin powerboat, odds are you don't really care how much it costs.
