2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI Ambition
Audi has released initial details about its Mini-baiting A1 hatchback, which is due in Australia in the early part of 2011.

At the 2010 Sydney Motor Show, Audi lifted the lid on basic pricing and specification details of its new Mini-sized A1 hatchback.
The two models on display at the show have each been customised with items, such as racing-themed trim, special leather inserts and contrasting roof arch colours, from the A1's extensive range of personalisation options.
Full specifications have yet to be released, but we know that all A1s will feature six airbags, stability control and a six-speed manual gearbox. Options will include a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and steering wheel paddle shifters.
Also on the list is the company's MMI entertainment and navigation system that's allied to a 6.5-inch pop-up screen. Overseas this system is fitted out with voice recognition, a hard disk that has 20GB of space set aside for music, an SD card reader, Bluetooth for hands-free and streaming music, DVD playback for audio, data and video discs, and iPod/MP3 player connectivity. Also available is a 14-speaker Bose surround sound system with a claimed output of 465 Watts.
At least two petrol and two diesel engines can be had in European A1s, but Australia-bound models will initially only feature the company's 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 90kW of power and 200Nm of torque. According to Audi, this engine is good for a zero to 100km/h time of 8.9 seconds and a fuel economy rating of 5.3L/100km.
Outlook
The A1 will go on sale in Australia in early 2011 in two trim levels: the AU$29,990 Attraction and AU$32,650 Ambition. Changing from the standard six-speed manual to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission adds AU$2260 to the price. All prices are inclusive of GST, but exclude dealer and statutory charges.
