Sony Bravia KLV-V40A10 LCD television
Sony's Bravia range marks the Japanese giant's latest foray into LCD televisions, with the V Series of sets leading the pack.
Upside
The V series boasts the same screen resolution as the mid-tier B series Bravias (at 1366x768 pixels), but does feature some notable extras such as a higher contrast ratio of 1300:1 and better brightness at 500 cd/m2. The V series also has a quick 8ms response time, making it ideal as an output for a PC or laptop. And as befitting its high def capabilities, the V series Bravias feature HDMI connectivity for an all digital audio/video link up. Other connectors include component, S-Video, PC and USB.
Sony is also touting some new technologies built into the set that improve picture quality. The V series sets have a built-in light sensor which automatically adjusts picture setting depending on the light conditions in your room, while Wide Colour Gamut True Colour technology is said to increase the overall colour range. Rounding off the V series list of features is SRS TruSurround audio.
