Panasonic Viera PZ80Q

Panasonic Viera PZ80Q

The Panasonic PZ80Q plasmas are the first TVs to include built-in support for Tru2way, which is designed to enable full access to digital cable TV services without the need for a separate cable box. Aside from the Tru2way support, the PZ80Q models are effectively identical to the PZ80U models--meaning that they offer a 20,000:1 native contrast ratio and 1080p resolution. That should put their picture quality somewhere between two models we did review: the PX80U series (720p, 15,000:1 contrast ratio) and the PZ85U series (1080p, 30,000:1 contrast ratio).

Judging from the spec sheets, we expect the PZ80Q models to produce black levels a bit deeper than the PX80U series, but not quite as deep as those we lauded on the PZ85U models. The PZ80Q models boast four HDMI inputs, but lack the VGA-style PC input found on the PZ85U models.
