Just because there's a new Nano in town, that doesn't mean your 2nd-gen Nano is chopped liver. The Mophie Knox iPod wallet ($45) is a classy way to turn a 2nd-gen Nano into a modern-looking wallet.

Measuring a wallet-worthy 4 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and 1 inch thick, the Mophie Knox is a hinged aluminum clamshell case for 2nd-gen Nanos that doubles as a money clip and credit card case. While the Mophie Knox's construction is top-notch, something feels inherently wrong about transforming your super-skinny iPod Nano into a bulky wallet. That said, the baggy-pant-wearing among you who have been searching for a high-style musical wallet will not be disappointed.

Mophie Knox iPod Wallet

The Good

The Mophie Knox is a tough, aluminum case for the 2nd-gen iPod Nano that doubles as a stylish wallet.

The Bad

At 1 inch thick, the Mophie Knox is an unexpectedly bulky case for one of the thinnest MP3 players in history.

The Bottom Line

If the idea of combining your cash and your iPod sounds as natural as peanut butter and jelly, the Mophie Knox iPod wallet is a stylish, if bulky, solution.

The Mophie Knox is full of little design details such as a magnetic latch system and a headphone cable pass-through hole. Keep in mind, however, that storing your iPod alongside a wad of cash and personal identification might not be a bright idea for people who live in rough neighborhoods or are prone to misplacing their MP3 players. Unless you've been looking high and low for a means to turn your wallet into a portable jukebox, we recommend buying a more basic case for your Nano that doesn't require you to flaunt your Benjamins each time you listen to music.
