Dell's thin-and-light Inspiron 4150 combines a carefully planned feature set with plenty of power, long battery life, and a good price. This notebook is a good match for business people who travel and can't afford to leave anything behind, but at 6.3 pounds and 1.6-inches thick, it's bigger than most competing thin-and-lights, such as the IBM ThinkPad T30. But it also offers a heck of a lot more than most competitors, including great performance and robust specs. We don't consider the Inspiron 4150 a bargain, however. For that, you should look to the Inspiron 2650, which is similar in terms of size and weight but starts at less than $1,000.
